This site is dedicated to the memory of Anne Feldman.

This memorial was created in honor of Anne Rodgers Feldman who died peacefully in Portland, Oregon on April 4th, 2016. Anne was born on July 19, 1939 and she lived in many places, did many things, and helped many people. She lived a life full of enthusiasm and curiosity and she remained genuinely open to people and new ideas. Particular passions included: travel, nature and wildlife, spending time in and by the ocean, playing games (especially boggle and scrabble), laughing, and reading. She will be remembered for her courage, her wry sense of humor, and her generosity.

Professionally Anne worked as a photo editor of college biology textbooks and after she completed her masters in social work she worked in drug and alcohol counseling. Anne was much loved and will be dearly missed by her friends, colleagues and family.

Anne struggled with a number of health problems throughout her life. Most recently her heart had been getting weaker and less able to stay in rhythm. On Saturday, April 2nd she was experiencing shortness of breath and chest pain and her son Mark took her to the Emergency Room. On Monday her condition took a rapid turn for the worse and medications were no longer able to help her body. With treatment options exhausted, she was removed from monitors and her pain alleviated. She died quietly at 4pm.

Anne is survived by her two sons, David (in Bar Harbor, ME) and Mark (in Portland, OR), two daughters in law, Doreen Stabinsky and Kyra Caspary, two grandchildren, Ezra Caspary and Lillian Feldman, and many friends. Predeceased by her sister, Elsa Naser and survived by her brother Frederick (Ted) Rodgers.

As you know, Anne loved all things related to oceans and the creatures that live there. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Anne's name to the Ocean Conservancy (http://www.oceanconservancy.org/support-us/). Her ashes will be placed in the ocean in a small ceremony for immediate family. We are planning a Rodgers and Naser family reunion sometime this summer, likely somewhere in Washington state.
